Smoked brownies
Attachment 448255
Regular boxed brownies, a cast iron skillet. Threw them in the smoker at 350 until a toothpick came out clean in the center. Flaky ans crispy on the top, moist in the middle and chewy on the edges. Light hint of smoke went well with the chocolate.

Looks delicious buddy! Thanks for sharing

They're not done....until the chocolate frosting is put on;)

These had the chocolate chunks in then. Pretty rich without icing. Definitely would need a tall glass of milk

I like walnuts in my brownies. And I also like the pan where each brownie is square because I love the corners.
-
I am thinking that a corn stick pan may certainly up the amount of chewy corners
-
This is like what we have but I believe it’s another brand.

I have some cast iron loaf pans that will probably work well in the smoker
-
Woah and i just picked this past weekend to start a diet. Perfect... Maybe i will make them for the family and torture myself. Did you use wood or just the residual smoke seasoning in the smoker?

I left the NBS show one year with the entire Lodge Cast Iron line they had for dealers to see. One of the pieces I brought back is a Cathead Biscuit pan. It has 7 muffin type molds in it. The Brownies would be all corner cooked in it. I'm with the big man above Walnuts, Walnuts, Walnuts and icing too if plenty of cold milk is on hand. Not that Low Lead stuff either but full strength Whole Milk.

I will have to see if I can find on of those pans. Getting quite the collection of cast iron here for sure. Just got done with a butter basted steak fillet and eggs in the cast iron
-
Round two. With some new to me cast iron to make the whole thing chewy. Throw on some cream cheese icing. Good stuff.

I will have to work to get the cast iron to release better. They were horribly rusted when I got it. Cleaned and a quick researching. Probably should have used a floured baking spray for easy release
