Caught some as it begins to warm back up here in Florida after we literally froze. All the leaves on the banana trees are brown and dead. Hopefully they recover.

Slab that yellow looking one is cool as beans.
I have never seen a pan with that dark of color. Was the water brackish or ? Very different.

The colors are cool here. The water by the State Park is very clear, just stained. That's why they are so dark. I think the yellow ones live in the park, and the other ones came in from the big part of the lake. At least that's what I think.

Hopefully the roots did not get frozen. I saw a man with really nice banana trees. He said the trick was to cut them down and mow the stump flat. His trees were covered with little bananas. So…….might be an idea now that the trees are damaged. If it doesn’t work, and you kill the tree, you can always blame that cold spell. :)
Banana trees are pretty resilient. I have confidence they'll recover. Personally I think the key is, to not trim dead leaves off, they protect the innards of the stalk and they'll produce big leaves faster. That's why I cover up the stalks, and not the leaves. Besides, trying to cover all the leaves on a tall nana tree is almost impossible anyway. This time on one of the smaller ones, I covered up the most recently sprouted leaf, the middle most one, And we'll see if that helped any. I like my nana trees. Thanks Flycaster.Quote:

there is this used truck i like in orlando , but i never got anyone to offer the free boat ride while i was there to pick it up
