Made this Livescope Electric Scanning thingy for about $55, I added it to the pvc manual movement mount I already had made. Dirt cheap, and although I've only used it once so far, it works great. Not sure why they are charging upwards of $500 for things like it, but wow, what a business if you wanted to make and sell some. Or just save money and make one yourself. I made it cause it was fun to do. Canepole and Ricky would be proud. Or are proud, I hope! lol
Great job slab! My kinda engineering…
All pretty much Chinese made junk but the price is right.

The rubber plug is what I used to connect the toothed pully to the inside of the 1" pvc. I thought that was a cool idea. It's good and tight too. Inspired by my boat drain plug.
I bought two of those pulley sets. I only used the big pulley out of each set because the motor was geared to only 10rpm. I coulda saved some dough by buying a motor with the correct speed for one set of the different sized gears.

No making fun of my feets!
hand made scope spinner - YouTube

The slice of duct tape on top of gear points in direction of the scope. I'll get something batter for that later, but this works and is easily adjustable. Prolly need to make it all water proof too. We'll see how long it works. But I think it'll be good. It's 1" pvc inside 1.25" pvc, and I left a little play up and down it so I could squirt some lube between the two. It's not like it's spinning around like crazy all the time, I think this will be just fine.
Groatie……..them toes are awful. As a kid, did you catch Tolio ?
Good smarts there Boss. I’ve got a trolling motor frame if you should need one.
OH it's On now! This is just the kinda nudge I needed to make some Motion Automation for the Livescope poles I make. A BIG THANK YOU for posting the parts. You are my Hero today My Friend. Aluminum will be flying in South Mississippi Monday (NIP Tide starts tomorrow, no workie, fishie!)
Crappie fisherpeople are the most creative humans I know ...

Works good and smooth, nice controllable speed. You did well.
Just wow , you folks got WAY toooo much spare time :Rofl
Just saying....
Silly me only has time to respool in the parking lot :banghead
I love the duct tape direction indicator. Lol
Very nice. Couldn't you put a dab of bright fingernail polish on the pulley instead of duct tape to show you the direction your transducer is pointed? I put a dab of polish on my garage key to differentiate it from my house key. Works good.
That would be permanent. I feel I can't get my aim straight on the thing cause I find it so hard to find my jig I end up moving the duct tape often! Lol

I wonder if something is slipping or moving slightly?
Naw, not that. It's me. And I think I need to get the zero degree thingy for the transducer. The regular one you get with it has a small angle. The angle is so it shoots around the trolling motor head and I guess they assume you're not gonna use a separate pole. Doh

Yeah I bought the zero degree mount as well. Mines on a pvc pole also. Don’t know why they don’t include both.

Very cool slab and that’s thinking outside the box. CrAzy priced for some of the electric products available and I love seeing some of that country creation!
I’d use some of that reflection type tape for my custom arrow,, I used that stuff on my arrows I used hunting to find them when my flashlight hit the tape ,,,worked great if they were shot laying somewhere in the woods
but, does it work?
Lol
good job! i want to see video of it in action.
You missed it, top of page two, but here it is again. Works great, really. Right speed, smooth.

Much like slab is me and the where is my jig darnit ....:Rofl
how much harder it it to deploy with that motor on it??
good job fella
Are you guys that are having trouble finding/tracking your jig casting, vertical jigging, pitching?
I have zero problem with that.
Just wondering?
Solution I’ve discovered is way to long to post and may require a new thread or a phone call.
And Slab, a zero degree transducer mount may help some but only slightly.
Might try a 3 rpm motor if you can find one or some type of gear reduction to slow down the movement of the transducer.
A tap of the pedal should move the transducer about 1/8-1/4 inch.
Again, great job
Good luck getting it dialed in.

NEW THREAD, NEW THREAD. please, I need all the help I can get. Maybe do a video, dono.
Anyway, today I went out and played, and kinda dialed in where I have that duct tape pointing. It really seemed to help. IMHO, at this point in time, I think it's just gonna take practice. The more I play with it the better I get. I'm the kinda guy that just don't have the patience for it. I always resort back to what I know. Just ask my wife, I hate change! Today though, was a lot of fun, I found my jig 90% of the time, that's always a good thing, right!
Far out,good deal.
Still think if you can slow down the rotation you will be even happier!!
Congratulations on your accomplishment.
