Deer season starts tomorrow

But since I sighted my gun in, saw bunch deer at my place and got the flue on wood stove blasted out and first fire of year going u know where I had to go. Hit the lake and wet a line.

My crappie guru buddy said they stopped biting and NW frigid wind was howling but still dropped the jig in. Nothing for few minutes in deeper water round some brush so pulled in and caught my first keeper in 4 ft of water 8 foot off bank. Then another and more as I moved in and out ketchn some out deeper. Finally hands were to cold to retie jigs and almost blown on water several times. No one else fishing guess it pays to be persistent.

Saw a buddy was at one of campsites and was really tickled I gave him My ketch. 12 nice ones.

Now off to chase deer a d my son a d his guys will show up and want a fishfry Saturday .Attachment 441324

I usually kill a couple but dude was in my usual spot and had to get there an hour and a half before daylight to do so as he knows I go there and it's public area. Content to let my son's guys get after them hard but will go for a while and then go hit the lake again. They loved the fry last night and would like some fresh to go along with spaghetti tonight.

More into playing cook and host for the guys anymore.

I know a few folks who have more fun being the camp host. Glad you still have a crew to go. Congrats and good luck.
