I use and abuse them, definitely from two different batches of rods because they've been ordered months apart and the green is different shades. I've got a pair of 11fters I used to use all the time, I bought used from here, before I settled on the 13ft. Same thing. No issues. I swung the striper in yesterday, if you can call it "swinging" when it was 18-19" long, just to see if it would break. I really don't want to put more money into something I'm not 100% convinced of. I rarely swing anything over 1.5" as I usually dont target fish that big in practice, and in tournies, I'll net those anyway, but they've got piles of 1.5-2.4lb fish under their belt. Buddy foul hooked a 5-6lb carp with one of their new 1 piece 6.5ft rods the other day, held up fine.
I'm not sponsored by them. But of the two 13' Crossovers, 11ft rear seats, 6ft dock shooter, and dad has an 8fter and 10fter, I've got no complaints what so ever. Personally, if it broke on a catfish, it wouldn't hurt my feelings. I see a ton of people these days fishing braid (including myself), and lock the drag down. When a catfish or other big fish makes a run, something has to give, and usually, it's high modulus carbon. Customer service is right, they weren't designed for that. Several rods I own will hold up to that kind of abuse, but as such, those properties that allow that, make them less desirable for me. I haven't tried HH, Jenko, Huckabee, so I can't speak to their durability, but did have a friend break an HH swinging a crappie in. For reasons other than that, I dont think you could pay me to fish an HH. I do want to give either the 15ft Jenko or 16ft Huckabee a shot though.
