Battery hungry Livescope

I wanted to see how and with what everyone's powering there Garmin Livescope? I cant seem to get more then 4-5 hrs before the low Voltage warning. I run 2 10" Hummingbird Helix 10" and a 10" Garmin 106sv off a Proguide 12v 31 series 675 cca 210rc dual purpose battery that came with the boat back in July. I have 2 stand alone 12v batteries for the Tm also. So as I see it I have 3 choice 1st upgrade the starting battery for a few hundred, 2nd add another 31 battery and wire them in Parallel or 3rd add a 4th battery as a stand alone power source for the Garmin but this would require a another charger or upgrading to a 4 bank charger.
The dealer suggested turning off the console unit while fishing but seeing its new boat id sooner not have to worry about that.

Get a stand along AGM or better battery for the LV.

Yep run livescope seperately. My buddy has humminbird 2 at console & megalive & 360 at bow & gets a low voltage alarm. I put my uhd 93 sv livescope system on a separate 16 volt 18 amp hour amped outdoors lithium battery & it has never had a problem in a 10 hour day of fishing or the walmart everstart group 29 battery powering the boat & 2 humminbird helix 9s &hasn't either. Running it as a stand alone unit you shouldn't have any problem with interference either. I haven't myself.

I got the amped outdoors 48AH battery! Put it in an ammo box and added a plug to the outside for my LS to plug in to! I’m also powering a gpsmap 1222 with that battery. I made my entire system portable due to my buddy having us down to Georgia to do some Speck fishing a couple times a year! I’ll be able to take it down there and put on his boat with what I have.

I run my LS & Garmin 93sv on a separate battery ... 68ah AGM

3 batteries onboard + 2bank charger ... so when I'm staying somewhere fishing more than one day, I charge the TM battery and the AGM. The 90hp Merc does a good job of charging the starter battery, if I do much running around.

After doing some research it seems the battery that came with the boat is less than par and doesnt even have a Amp hour rating, I talked with a guy who does marine electrical work on ocean going vessels and is a member on a Livescope group on Facebook, I gave him the specs of the battery which are 845 marine cranking amps, 675 Cold cranking amps and 210 Reserved capacity and the battery is a dual purpose type battery. He recommended a 31 series that has at least 800 Cca and at the very least 30 amp hour rating at the minimum' he also mentioned that the new Mercury 115 pro outboards recharge your batteries quickly. I appreciate the advise but this is brand new boat and I dont want to have to worry about mounting another battery, and adding another charger or upgrading to a 4 bank. If I have issues I will report back.

If you have an onboard charger & charge it every time yiu use it just put a big deep cycle in it for a starting battery & i bet you don't have it happen again. After jumping a new boat i had 3 times i did & never had to jump it again & have never had to jump another one since either. I have gave others a jump though several times.

I am using Dewalt 20V batteries with Seelite adapters.

You run just a deep cycle with enough CCA? what do you use? Thinking about upgrading mine

Mine (the one that came with the boat) is a 675 cca 845 mca with 210 rc, it doesnt even have a amp hour rating and from what ive learned is really what you want. I will buy as much amp hours as i can afford.

Yep thats my plan, I am happy with the Livescope soo no need to add another battery and worry about how to charge it.

I run Amped Outdoors 32ah Lithium just for livescope (black box and 1242xsv ). Don't take up much room and weighs 5 lbs .

I run a 100AH Lithium strictly for my 2 1222's up front and my 943 XSV in the dash. Also on the black boxes. Never drops below 12.7 volts. An added note worth mentioning is the wire size used by everyone. I have an 8 gauge marine wiring harness as my wire. From everything I've read this makes a huge difference on supplying good clean power.

Great ideas from all here. I can highly recommend Amped Outdoors lithium batteries. I have a 48 amp hour up front to power my Garmin 12 and LS. Can run them all day and never go below 14 volts! They also come with a charger, so just plug in and recharge it. Pricey ($250) but the best investment I have ever made on batteries- especially for LS.
