Heading up to the lake for 2 weeks the first of October. Any tips on crappie fishing in the fall would greatly appreciated. Never fished in the fall.

Fished three days last week with catfish, hybrids and perch to show for it. Not a single crappie. Water temp was 77-81, fished the 60-67mm. Trolled bandits, threw road runners and slip corked over brush. Shad are in small groups and scattered which means so are the predators.
Headed back the 25-30th. I'll pm you if I find anything.
Also note that the Big Bass Bash is the first weekend of October (the 1st and 2nd). Lake will be nuts with fishermen.
Thanks for the info.

Crappie seem to have lockjaw lately! I kept 6 pulling crankbaits Wednesday and threw back around 10 9” inch ones but I had to cover a whole lot of water. I tried a few docks early with no takers. The water temperature was around 80 in the Little and Big Niangua. The lake is down about 2’ feet from summer pool.
