RAIN ! good times are here again ......
Now did all that Crappie.com prayer do it , not sure , but to be sure it rained twice this week so far ,yeah buddy ......:highfive
We almost didn't go . but of course me and Ez said STOP it H there is ONLY a 15% chance this afternoon .....
So we met up and played with some fisheez on the dock and then said that is quite enough when a channel cat came up and off we went .....
got out on the open lake about 3:45 , first pitch KABOOM and it went that way for a good while , they were in large numbers under that dock and lots of species as well , it was really fun , man did we cut up and act like teenagers....
Spotted bass , white bass , yellow bass , warmouth, drum ,white crappie , black crappie, channel catfish and whatever it was that BROKE my line and took my jig too ....:banghead
It was really hilarious , H and Ez started counting the fish they lost as fish they ketched ....:dono
I was like WAIT JUST A MINUTE , if you don't hold it , it aint ketched and the argument raged on , Ez got all up under a jet ski when the wind abruptly changed direction and sent us under the dock as he hung a nice one , this one got some air and then POOF it was gone ...
Of course in defense of Ez's precarious position and that darn jet ski smacking him in the head as he wrestled with that crappie , I want to say he probably could have landed it with less distractions ....said probably ....:Rofl
don't know exactly why but a few of the crappie were jumping like bass and making it really difficult to put them in your hand , a few got some big air and the battles raged on .....
Then here comes the ALERT on the radar app on my phone losing it's mind , we decided it was time to run as the wind direction changed 180 degrees and the temp plummeted by about 15 degrees and the wind speed got pretty large too ....
Thunder in the distance as we rounded the corner on a dead fast run to the dock and we rolled up as the first drops fell , off the lake before 6 and we played with a few in the pouring rain at the dock and then down the road we went after it let up ....
Sure was bigtime fun , EVERYONE needs a trip like that one , laughed so hard it wasn't funny about the entire time we hung around together ...
let "most" of them go , but that is another fish story ....
KABOOM is the word ya"ll
p.s. 7 to 12 foot of water was best , fish were wanting it SLOWLY drug by them close to the bottom and the bites were all over the map , the good news is the fish were dedicated and determined once they bit, his LS unit showed herds of active fish under that dock as well all over the place right when we rolled up !
