The itty bitty swimmer works great for summer crappie. I have the trout magnets but the bluegill get to them before the crappie in my experience.
I've used both but I've had more success with the itty bitty swimmer. Both will work.
I took up the smaller baits last year, on the advise if Dock Shootin Jack. It has been a big help with catch rate. I do like the Bobby Garland itty bitty in several styles. I'll say that I didn't abandon the larger plastics and baits, but I tend to go smaller now.

I just thought, I have also been using the Berkey Gulp minnow. The little 1 inch in the jar. They catch fish but don't leave the jar on it's side in your boat or tackle box. Once opened they leak and they stink. Ask me how I know! Once my first batch leaked in one of my bags and sprayed them down with Slab Sauce. Now maybe that was the reason they caught so good.

All I use for crappie is a Trout Magnet....and only in 2 colors.

Alphahawk, i love trout magnets. which colors do you use if you don't mine me asking...I use bison and sow bug 95% of the time dock shootin..
Slab Sauce works!
Ninety-nine percent of the time it is Sow Bug or Bison. I started this years ago. I carried all kinds of baits and was wanting to really downsize the gear I carried. I have caught crappie on many lures but found that the Trout Magnet caught just as many and I got rid of everything else...gave tons of lures away to my sons.

Bison, bulldog or sow bug trout magnet. I always have one of those colors tied on. Itty bitty swimmer are good as well.
Itty bitty swimr is hard to beat in my opinion. I have done very well with them this year on a size 8 hook small weight. It’s helped me bring home a few stringers this summer.

The itty bitty swimr rocks in late winter/early spring too. Any time the crappie are schooled up, it is hard to beat, especially after a cold front when they ignore bigger baits.

What size hook do y’all use on that itty bitty.
Size 8 works best for me
