We went last wednesday in Pensacola...We caught 7 Kings, A flounder, A Red, And a black Snapper, A shark, and several hard tails, and several of those worthless Ocean cats....It was a blast, we got to see the Blue Angels practicing. They where flying right over us...It was a cool trip.:D
I'd check it but I don't speak coonass or cajun, do you think that'll be a problem?
Darryl, It would definately not be a problem. Gooch is far from being a one and he commented on my post and no-one messed with him.....We are some of the friendliest guys you could meet. Feel free to check it out and even comment on it.......lol....you will be welcomed.....Quote:

Five friends and I went out of Cocodrie, La, three weeks ago and had a blast. We caught 350 pounds of fish. Snapper--Red, Mangrove, Yellowtail--shark, amberjack, grouper, wahoo, triggerfish, mackerel, cobia--I caught a 41 pound cobia. I don't know what those fish are holding on to down there, but they sure are hard to pull up! We couldn't have asked for better weather conditions. You could look down in the water and see lots of fish. I would highly recommend everyone to try this at least once----and like other things, you will soon be planning your next trip!

How long was the trip you went on to catch all those fish, was it a 8 hour trip. We went on one a couple of years ago and all we caught were red snapper.
We left the dock around 5:45am and got back around 4:30 pm. We had our limit of red snapper (which is only 2 each) in less than an hour. We caught several, but in hopes of catching some bigguns, we were throwing back 8 lb fish!
Where did you go out of when all you caught was the snapper?Quote:

When we limited on the reds---with some other species mixed in---we concentrated more on the mangroves---and whatever else would come up.
Here's the biggest red snapper of the day--18-20 lbs, caught by a friend.

That there is some nice fish too. I have never been "deep sea" fishing, but one of these days we will make it out there. Until then I will have to settle for the big reds and black drum just off the coast of Cameron.
Well going out of Orange is a little different...I know if you dont take a overnight from there you dont get into the big grouper or Tuna or dolphin. It takes so long to get into the deep water there. Thats what we usually catch going out of orange is snapper a few trigger, amberjack, and Kings. I've never been on a overnight but I want to go sometime....Quote:
