Welcome from North Carolina ✝️
Thank you for the warm welcome. We are newly retired, and I need some quiet time on a lake shore. Many fond memories of pan fishing at Lake Berryessa in California as a 14 year old, but only able to start back now at 66 in Southeast Keokuk, Iowa. I'm sure ready for a firm guiding hand to have fun. I'm not a boater, but shoreline fishing is my speed.
What I have for equipment starts with a 6.8' Kingswell telescopic rod and S3000 spinning reel. The company recommends using 10lb line. That will go to a Thill Crappie cork bobber. After that to a snap swivel and 4-6 lb. flouro line. (So much has changed, and I've a lot to catch up on.)
Ready to get your advice on everything, especially after the bobber, from swivels to jigs. That'll be nice to prepare things for our October camping trip.

Welcome to Retirement Tom, and welcome aboard. Anything you have a question about stop by the Main Forum, throw the question out there, and one of us at least will be along to give you an answer. Now many times you'll get more than one answer...If the question is more regional, like places to fish, your state board is better than the main board. Welcome aboard, and tight lines. Thank you for the welcome. I'm another newbie for sure. So, here's my first question. I need a recommendation, please, for size, type and source for blackened barrel swivels. also same for 3-way swivels.
Welcome from North Carolina ✝️
Thank you again for the info and the swivels are on the way!
