Yes. I remember it very vividly. Funny stuff. Now if I can just find those gas jugs under the bucks in the yard
Lol, I can remember Dad paying .25. Myself .79 a gal in my lifetime. Good one
Barely...
I remember getting $0.50 from the neighbor's daddy so his son & I would walk to the filling station down the road to buy a gallon of gas for his chainsaw. With the $0.02 left over, we bought 4 pieces of Bazooka Joe Bubblegum at the country store on the walk home. Where does time go?...besides rapidly the other direction in the rearview mirror.

In the early 60's I had to drive from Norfolk, Va to southern Ga. Somewhere in one of the Carolinas I encountered a gas war. Gas was 9¢ a gallon. Never seen it again in my life time but I sure won't forget.
Unfortunately JJ- Everything has gone up...getting difficult finding any DOE!![emoji1787][emoji23]

This subject could easily escalate to become very ugly.
For many very good reasons.
Yes. Two years ago. I drove down to Florida in March 2020 for my yearly spring fishing trip and gas was around $1.25/gal. I ate good that year with all the money I saved on gas. This past March, 2022...$4.25/gal. I ate a lot of peanut butter sandwiches that week.:(
Well i think you just might be exaggerating a bit on the gas price from 2 years ago. lol
But non the less it has become a very big issue, except for those who can do something about it.
But its sorta like the kid who was asked about the score in the baseball game.
He said there winnin 24 to nuthin.
Guy said wow, they are really beating you bad arent they.
Kid said yeah, but we aint had our bats yet.
And neither have we.
I drive down every fall and stay 4 months. I don't ever remember gas being under $2 in Florida. the past 4 _5 years. I do remember the price of gas when I was in high school back in the 60's, it was 19cents a gallon.

My brother worked at a Sunoco station and there was a gas war between 3 stations within sight of each other at 13 cents a gallon. Not long after that I took a ride on the Schwinn Stingray bike to the McDonalds with $1.05 in my pocket. I got 3 hamburgers, a frie and a small coke for that money. Can I get a drink for that anymore?
Back then most of the stations were full service not self serve. You would even get oil checked & windows washed. Now your lucky if the window wash tank has water in it to wash your on windows.
