How many of you guys do it? I ordered a light & am going to give it a try after i come up with a couple anchors. How many use either jigs or plastics when fishing this way? Any tips or suggestions for this style of fishing & i'm all ears.

I have used them when fishing minnows
I’m a multi pole guy back when I used to fish at night with a light I’d have a minnow pole or 2-3 with just a hook and Minnow hooked thru the eyeballs swimming around about 7- 12’ down and would just lay them on the side of the boat and keep a jig rod in my hand sometimes they wanted one or the other sometimes both ! Mostly dead sticking the jig or a small lift of only 6-8” then back down keeping a tight line when dropping it back down! And be sure to take a big can of off ! Skeeters really bad most nights !
I use a submersible one from time to time. For sure brings in the baitfish and then the Crappies etc. Seems to work for me but be patient as sometimes it takes a bit to draw em in.
I am with Slabprowler. At night it is multi pole fishing.
Don't forget the bug spray. Most of the time we tie off to bridges no need for an anchor.

Summer time with a green light I like to use a slip bobber with minnows and multiple rods. I also try to fish in a spot that the crappie want to be in. The light will attract bait and eventually crappie but it's better if the fish are close by.
The slip bobber makes it easier to cast out to the edge of the light and adjust your depth. 6 to 12 feet deep is normal.
