I bought some for the boat trailer. Hopkins was the brand.
I saw a hopkins one at tractor supply. They had a cheap kit and an expensive kit over $200 but did not know if it was good or not
I used the lights with my original wiring. The lights seem well built. I soldered and used heatshrink on all connections.
I think I need to redo the whole wiring on this one. The trailer is in great shape, but the lights and wiring not so much.
Grote has a LED light kit. Just about any trailer parts place that's a Grote dealer will sell them. I sell a lot of them for the company I work for. Don't remember the last time I had to warranty any of them.
I got a tow smart kit for 50ish @ Menards. I like the a lot.
Have used the cheap e bay 20 buck kits for years with out any issues !
as long as the wire don’t get cut or chewed by a animal (Lol).
Had a lab years ago that could unwire boat trailer lights4 times as fast as I could wire them.
The kits are all garbage as far as I'm concerned.
Get yourself some 6 way trailer wiring. It'll be 6 individual wires with an outer sheath. Tough stuff, usually around $2-3 a foot. Get your lights, and a plug, and a pack of shrinkable butt connectors.
It'll cost more but it will last, unless you're like me have a habit of backing into things and breaking lights.
My boat mechanic had to put up electric fencing around the boat parking area at his home shop after a customer told him he had been stopped three blocks away after picking up his boat, for no tail lights on his trailer. And he meant NO tail lights...all gone. Seems after checking all the other boat trailers and finding the plastic lenses and housings in shreds, he figured out his 2 labs were guilty.

I installed a LED light kit on my boat trailer yesterday. I got it from Cabela's for $25. It's a complete kit and worked great. I used the shrink tube butt connectors instead of the clip connectors that come with it. The ice gets mine in the winter so I don't go with the expensive ones. Going to build some bolt on cages before next winter to protect them.
