Ok yall pull all the staples out or pull what you can , then pound the break offs back in the wood to rust out??
This is soo freaking tedious I'm just 36 inches in 1 16 ft board an got 4 boards
-
Think someone had carpeted this before with comerial style , has like a backing to it just falling apart as I'm pulling it.
Guess all the staples and the weight of the pontoon was holding it on .
-
Those staples arent any fun to put in or take out. They do make a staple puller that works pretty well.
-
Got my lineman pliers an needle nose so not too bad
-
Just got 1 board striped , guess the garmin not getting installed today .. I need a break any ways got to replace the short lag bolts holding the lumber into the frame. Luckily the white Jones carries lots of stainless steel fastners..

This is on the back underneath see all the staple holes there were more staples on the stacked carpet on top of that.
I'm going to let the wood dry out tomorrow, i tested it it's solid.
After it's dry I'll put Thompsons on all of them put the marine garage bunk carpet on it, the new led lights then the trailer will be done..

Ugh, that’s a lot of work. GL with the finished product.

I did that twice, third time I put plastic slides on. I think it's easier on the wood, the wood can dry out faster. Boat slides on easier.
I replaced lag bolts with counter sunk carrage bolts, washers and lock nuts.
I also found side cutters worked better as you can see what you are pulling
-
I bought Teflon slides off of Ebay and put on my pontoon bunks. My bunks were rotten after 3 years from buying boat new. Hopefully they will last longer being able to dry out. Boat loads and unloads so much easier also.
