If you were going to vertical jig with livescope 90% of the time when crappie fishing what would be your main style & size of soft plastic lures & also 3 or 4 colors for clear to slightlly stained water that are constant producers? I'm trying to not get overloaded with plastics & also overwelmed by all of the choices & trying to keep it as simple as it gets. Since i make my own bass soft plastics i may buy a couple crappie lure molds so this would help in mold choice too. Thanks guys.

Not really limited but just trying to figure out a few proven day in day out colors & dont want to have 25 colors of everything under the sun. Been there done that with bass fishing & after years finally scaled it back to what i fish 90% of the time & it's a lot better from me in my opinion& way cheaper with a lot less to give away that i won't use. And besides you guys know as i get more into it i'll add to the arsenal just like you all have seemed to by the suggestions already given. :biggrinQuote:

Bobby Garland Baby Shads the difference I notice in these versus other shad type baits is the shape, when hooked correctly with light jig heads the V shaped body gives a suttle rocking motion when sinking. Daves color selection covers most bases.
I've got a bunch of packs of garland baby shads, crappie magnets, crappie thunders & a few colors of marabou jigs in 1/16 & 1/8 ounces. Also interested in possibly buying a couple molds of good proven bait styles that work good for this style of fishing. I have a dual injector so i can make 2 color baits at least & have micah powders & hilites too so i'm good there too. Thanks

Wish I could be of some help. Sadly I'm the guy who needs all of them. Even though I have certain colors and types I mainly fish, I need them all. Just in case. I carry all the main colors but always want some type of color or style they haven't looked at in a while. It's a problem because I'm the guy who doesn't want the deck cluttered. I may need help in the future. [emoji1787]

White, Yellow, Chartreuse, and Black in solid and all combinations of those 4 in plastics. Then White, Black, Chartreuse, Red, Pink, Orange, and Blue headed jigs. I don't know how many possible combinations that would give you but it's a lot. - I've forgotten the math to figure it but I know you got to use them factorials and such...

I prefer a pink 1/16th Oz head but use plain lead a lot too. I have been using a large split shot above it for live scope fishing like everyone else does to better see my jig.

I also dig the baby shads. My go to is black and chartreuse. Here lately electric chicken has been getting the action too. Id say after that is pink jig head and all black baby shad. I also like blue ice.
I think color makes a difference but gotta be where the fish that want to bite are.
