Pretty cool. We have someone here on cdc that has made some amazing wood carvings as well.
Interesting that they call them fish decoys.
An instructor at PA Institute of Taxidermy when I was there, Kent Stryker, did lifelike wood reproductions of actual fish that were better than most mounts. His prices reflected the talent it took to do such work.

My late grandfather used to spear pike thru the ice and use live suckers as decoys .
But that is one fine replica in wood no doubt about it .:cheers2

silly me lost most of what my dad used to carve with a pocket knife , it was amazing as a kid to see him carve things , he made a ball inside a cage on the end of a chain one time that didn't even look real , don't remember how long it took though , it was 60 years ago .Quote:
