The year is 2122. Here is how we fish for crappie (or any specie). All naturally bred crappie have been eliminated by various biological, chemical, and other not yet known means. All crappie are bred and raised in tightly controlled hatcheries throughout the country.
Upon hatching, the fingerlings are imbedded with a tiny “chip.” This chip-of-the-future is unlike any we know today. It records and transmits the biological data of the fish (including size, exact species; i.e., white or black crappie, sex, whether it is safe to eat, its precise location, etc. This information is received by various satellites and retransmitted back to earth.
We receive that data on our HumLawGar (HLG) Live Scope. As we scan our favorite fishing spot information is given to us via speaker on our HLG.
A tiny dot on our screen appears on each fish. You can set this yourself to be specie specific. For instance, ID only crappie. A simple touch of the screen and we are shown all the data we need for that fish, including size and weight.
Now, all the fisherman needs to do is entice that fish to bite. However, there is talk about a new feature that will be able to fire a dart into the fish whereupon a balloon is auto-inflated and your “catch” simply floats to the surface.
