To day was Surgery day

I am back home and supposed to be resting. I get 15 min. every hour where I can hold my head upright. The Dr. said everything went good, and I have to go to her office for a post operation check. I have a patch over the left eye, to protect it for 5 days. Also this 45 min. down, and 15 min. up lasts for 5 days. Thankfully momma was home and is helping the Dr. enforce those rules too...I will say ones depth perseption is thrown off a bit with one eye covered, and with this big ole patch over the eye, my glasses don't sit right either... Ah, Eric. Glad to hear you are home and recovering! Hopefully the Docs got everything done that they had todo and you’re on your way to recovery. As everyone said, follow the docs (and your wife’s) instructions.

Well technically, I don't have to lay down, but lean forward face down. To fix the hole in the macula, the Dr had to remove the fluid in the eye, inflate it with some gas/air, do the repair, then refill with saline solution. Gas/air gets trapped and will eventually work its way out. So in the mean time, it's head down till it works it's way out. Usually about 5-7 days time.

I for one was worried that the eye patch would spoil your looks, but boy was I relieved (thanks for the pic) to see it didn't appear to hurt your looks one bit.

Well I'm back from the Dr's office. Good news is everything went well. Patch is off except when I go to bed at night. Vision right now is extremely blurry in that eye. Kinda like trying to look through two glasses of water lined up back to back. She said this is caused by the gas bubble in their. It will dissipate over the next 4-6 weeks. It's currently at 80% line. As it dissipates, my vision will clear. Pressure in that eye is currently at 25, which means it has glaucoma in it. They prescribed three different eye drops and a cream for pain. I have another appointment in 10 days. I am at the point she wants my head down for 45 minutes of every hour till Monday...So that's where I'm at...Update when something changes. As always, thank you all for the prayers.

Sounds like things have improved some. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers

ran right over a curb, back when leaving the docs office with an eye patch on , warned me and of course i was like whatever :Rofl
get well soon , the owner of my company has had both his eyes worked on recently for cataracts and is doing well now.
hopefully you and your surgery turns out just like that , his second one was more painful than his first

**UPDATE**
Thank you, everyone for your Prayers and well wishes. MY site has improved to the point with my head facing the floor I can make things out pretty well. However, lifting my head up in the upright position, it goes back to looking through a glass of milk. Gas bubble shifts, I guess. Getting better. I drove for the first time today, and did pretty well. No hits, scrapes, nor close calls, so that's a plus...

Thanks for the update. Continued prayers for healing. Just keep doing as instructed and hopefully be as good as new before to much longer.

Eric, Jesus is answering all the prayers people have made on your behalf. We are encouraged by the news you are progressing nicely by the Grace of God. Continue to listen to those who have been there and done that, and also mamma and medical personnel. Soon you will be completely healed and restored.
