A hand held wire brush should get most if not all of that off.
Thx sure do appreciate it. Was not really that hard to do really hopefully putting it back together will go smoth..:pray
Salt or brackish was use?
Fresh water only but when I looked at the impeller housing
The top hole rubber bushing was onto of it not in the hole fixed that.
So may be that and previous owner beached it on the bank
Understandable. Some folks can be pretty rough on things
I took pics as I was going along since this was my first time
Doing this so im assuming this is not right fir the rubber boot to be in this podition.

Speaking of wire brushes, the Dollar General has a three pack of wire brushes that are similar looking to a tooth brush, handy for use in small or tight areas.
They used to be a dollar, but thanks to inflation they are now $1.25. I keep 'em around the garage and find use for them often.
I'll have to get some .. but I cleaned it up took it to the ramp just started it on the trailer and it pissing like a champ..

Just got to clean up the cowling up some. Got get on some fish first..
Good deal. Glad you got it fixed
Good job!
Carefully...
A heat gun or hair dryer helps a lot to soften the adhesive and make it easier to peel off. Careful that you don't put too much heat on it. A good aunny day will also warm it up and make it peel easier
Might could remove the cowl and let it sit in the sun a while, finger nail around the edges until you can get some careful pull on it...
The old man traded a vehicle for a Ford Pinto wagon Esquire addition with the wood grain vinyl on the side. It was faded some with hair dryers it was all peeled off before he repainted the car. Fun times.
