Well, I have a faint smell of skunk hanging around after yesterday. Not completely skunked but almost. I talked with several yesterday that was experiencing the same thing. Found a lot of fish with LS but couldn’t get them to bite.

Last few times Ive been over there theyve been hitting aggressively but you have to put it right in their mouth so to speak. Dont give up. I've been 3 times in the last week and a half and its been the best fishing I've had. Not numbers wise but weight wise, but I wasn't fishing for keeps.
TreednNC, I was there yesterday along with 2 others in their boat..First and very important, it was very windy. We covered Abbotts, Sail Boat neck, 2nd Creek and up as far as Swearing CK. My buddies went to Flat Swamp.. All of these places did not produce a fish. On there way back to the launch they stopped where I was in a little cut where I was fishing. I had caught 3 there but it was so windy boat control & Livescope had a hard time getting along with each other..:) They went home after telling me they had talked with several people that didn't have as much as a bite. That made me feel pretty good catching 3.
I use to fish HR all the time several years back when ncnat was posting a lot..I still like to fish HR..My first 3 trips this were great but that was about 3 weeks ago. Anyway, I will be back but I hope the weather is kinder....Have a good weekend
I've had a tough time this week too. I have marked tons of fish but they have a serious case of lockjaw going on...
Fished this weekend, had about 3-4 pecker heads eaters (10-11"), everything else was 1.5+ with a 2.29 and a 2.40 rounding out the top. Wind was a pain but I use a chain and fish with the wind now. All went back to be caught another day. Much more scattered than they were, and a LOT spookier. Fish were swimming off or going to the bottom at 35-40ft for the most part.
I guess I'm not the fisherman that I use to be. :(:(Plus, I don't know HR like I use to. You young guys are wearing this old man out.
Real good report and nice fish..:highfive
That whole lake is eat up with crappies. Most any of the public ramps should put you within kayak striking distance of crappies, especially if you have electronics on it.
If not, look up Navionics chart viewer and google maps aerials and look for the water that provides the most depth you're seeking, which should be under 10ft right now with the most cover near by. They're not on cover right now, but will be in a few weeks and are sitting out there feeding, waiting to go up and do the dirty.
I have yet to get to High Rock this year. Might be about time to take my kayak out there and battle the other boats for some slabs!
Went today didn’t get a bite. Cranes Abbott swearing marked fish but no bites. Even tried trolling. WT 57 main and 60 back creek.
Last month caught several 2 lbers and over 100 fish. Hopefully it gets good later on.
Didn’t see anyone else catch anything either except couple small ones at the bridge.
