That is a unique head! I like it. I know nothing about striped fishing though. What weight and size hook?
Not sure of the weight and size. They were in a tackle box. This is them next to a 1/16.
Don't look a lot bigger, eh? Hope you catch some with them.
looks like a skunk.
That’s a nice “zebra” tie. GL getting after them.
Really like that look. We were catching striped bass in the 20 to 25 pound range at Truman a few years back on 1 oz. so don't be afraid to go even larger. That color comb should draw lots of attention to it.
Good looking ties
I have caught Stripers when trolling 1/8 oz jigs fishing for crappies. Caught one once on a 10ft spider rod. Talk about a fight...was only about 12 pounder.
Here is a pic of my buddy that got one an 1/8 oz crappie jig.Attachment 419900
12 pounder would be a masterful catch and fun on a crappie rod.
We got a 4lb on a 12'. Cannot imagine a 12lb!
Yeh...was just glad it was in the middle of summer and I was in about 20ft of water with no structure around. Took forever...to get him in. Thought is was a big cat at first until it started screaming off line. Only think better was I got a 98lb Tuna off of Bermuda on 25lb test. Water is so clear there they use real light line. I was young then...no way I could do it now.
Tell me....is there anything better than fishing.
Rapala sliver, Cordell redfin & storm thunder stick or thunder stick jr. a bomber long a, super spook or spook jr. 1/2 to 1 oz. white or white& chartreuse buck tail with 4 or 5" chartreuse grub gets used a lot around here too. I almost forgot the umberlla rig & a strawberry lil mac. If deep several folks fish spoons too. Lots of choices.
