Appears could be helpful in some situations, but as is without the update I continue to change forward distance, depth, and gain based on: water depth, structure and water clarity and the update just throws more settings to change while fishing. Just not sure if you perform the upgrade and you don't like it, could you set the color limit back to "0" and all the original setting options would not be affected. More research and hopefully more videos.
I think if you didn’t want to use it just set to 0 or turn off and it would be the same. It’s just a new feature you could use if needed. Personally I’m in no hurry to upgrade but eventually will to keep up to date. Like always you will have to adjust settings based on day and lake to find best settings.
Where I thought this would be great is in the spring when there is alot pollen in the water.
I need to learn how to update mine, it works fine but think I may need to keep it up to date to keep it working good. Any input ? I'm a "if it ain't broke dont fix it" kinda guy.

The new update is legit. You can crank up the gain then clear the screen clutter. It make a small jig show up really good.
Made the upgrade last week and went out Saturday for a tournament. I'm having a bight flickr every few seconds. Anybody else having this problem?
I upgraded. I played with the new features a little but mostly changed to back to what I was doing
I haven't heard much good other then the auto ghost tree setting people liking. Jury is still out if I upgrade or not.
I've heard mixed reviews. I updated units but haven't got out on the water. Hopefully can this week. If I don't like it I can preform a forced update to previous version. I have everyone back to 2019. Really think I could make some money selling previous version on Garmin Facebook groups right now. lol
Don G--on Kerr. Only caught two over pound and was a tough, windy, cold day on the water. I think only 11 out of 23 teams weighed in any fish.
