This is my spider fly , bug , or what ever you want to call it .
The panfish think it’s candy .
I use these on an UL flyrod mostly , but on my last visit to the Town pond , I fished it on a mini drop shot rig with success , after my woolybooger jig pattern failed to get me anything .
I tie it on a size 10 hook , either a Mustad 3366 or something similar.
This one , I upgraded to a size 10 daiichi curved caddis hook . They seem a lot sharper than the Mustad , but cost about four times as much .
It’s a simple tie with a fine or medium chenille body with micro Centipede legs .
I’ve been told it looks like a cap spider fly , but I didn’t know what a cap spider was until after I had been fishing this one for a couple of years and shared it online .
