Finally a quality pair of insulated boots. I like alpha burlys with 1600 grams of insulation but there are many others. I wouldnt go less than 1200.
Wear socks and boots, not steel toe tho. You could get some of the foam floor tiles for in front of work benches, they will insulate under your feet were most of the cold comes from.
My thinking is to NOT put tight stuff on feet and ankles. Allow for good blood flow. I don't want 1 or 2 tight sock layers plus longjohns tight at ankle. I like loose boots with one decent, part-wool sock. I were a short muck boot with the formed open top. Yes it lets heat out, but my feet don't sweat. You can also twist up a piece of cloth and seal the opening around the top of the boot. If its really cold, I wear a rain pant or windbreaker pants and have the cuff cover the boot. That way the wind doesn't rob your heat.

I agree with AlphaBurlys 1600. Go a size larger so you can get extra socks on. Otherwise they can be tough to take off! I've been out this year in below zero weather and no problems with my feet getting cold.

If I’m only going to be out a few hours I use those toe warmer pads that are air activated. You put them on the bottom of your sock and they’re good for about 5 hours. I got my last box at Costco and they are relatively inexpensive and work.

Worked out of Chicago till last July out in that weather hauling cars. Pulled Fords out the Ford plant off 122nd street. Living in Carolina by OBX where its warm working up there you know my butt froze in winter till I figured it out. . Two things you can do cheap to live in the cold.
Climbing rails stretching chains on those racks you tear up a lot of cloths. if you buy new it gets costly.
Lot of people try snow sports from skiing, snowmobile's to hunting every years only to find out they hate it.
Look on e bay for two things. Used Snowmobile suit and your boots. I only wore Turkk boats up there. Cost new 200 to 350 dollars. E bay used 50 to 60. Two pairs of cheap wool socks and those boots with a snow mobile suit , pair of sweats under them undershirt, flannel shirt I've busted the snow and ice off my trailer so I could load, warm and toasty as I can be just keep that head covered and those hands warm nothing where you live will even concern you. :) Takes a little getting use to running a trolling motor with extreme weather boots on but its not hard once you get it. Went fishing yesterday. Had mine on .

Just a funny note. Grew up by Myrtle Beach SC In that disco era. One of the locals that could dance. That proved to be helpful with catching what we went after back then. :)

Neoprene socks (wet suit socks) work well. I know, I've worked in -30 F weather on drilling rigs. Women's knee-high panty hose works well in the low teens along with felt lined shoes/boots.

If not running a foot control trolling motor....consider some boot blankets....used to use them during late season tree stand hunts.
