What would be good for somebody pretty much a beginner at crappie fishing to try? I'm wanting to find offshore brush with electronics & drop down to them. Tube, shad body like a garland etc. or what would be good to catch on with? Thanks

About any of the stinger baby shad baits will work just find a color their biteing. You can find them at most Wal-Mart and Academy stores
Ok thanks. I appreciate it.
Crappie magnets, Bobby Garlands, TTI Blakemore/Road Runners all work well for me. As stated earlier find the color and you’re in business. Slab and G Sauce doesn’t hurt either. Good Luck.

Thanks guys. I've got a free walmart gift card today so i'm going to load up on a few things & try them out next week sometime. :biggrin
Having some variety in sizes helps also at times
The little keystone minnow is a good one alsoAttachment 414191
Personally, Les .... I'd start ANY beginner out with a slip float & minner, just so they catch something starting off & not get bored or frustrated. THEN on any following trips I'd show them about casting a jig and letting it fall on the countdown method, then reel back real slow & watch the line for the thump. If I could hover over top of the cover, I'd show them how to *Vertical Cast and feel or see the thump (a tap or instant slack when reeling up).

Thanks guys. I've crappie fished a few times with bobbers & minnows & have also fished with strictly a jig or jig minnow combo. I figure if i can catch crappie offshore with electronics like i'm wanting it may also help my vertical fishing with electronics for bass too. I figure crappie fishing would be a good change of pace until the night bite for striper & bass kicks in & who knows i may end up strictly a full-time perch jerker too. :biggrin
