I knew Andrews Bait shop on Nimrod was closed on Mondays. But I circled by this morning to pick up ice and minnows. Waited till 7:15 and nobody showed up.
Do they have new hours or just an oversleep??

Dont know of another place to buy minnows between Atkins and Plainview...... There may be a place in Russellville that I don't know about...
I used jigs today and did OK. But I seam to do better using minnows. Guess I need to be a better fisherman. Lake Atkins does have them but he's not open that early. Sometimes you have to call him and get him to come over.
The little bait shop on Brewer has a good idea. He has a little room that has the minnow tanks that stays open or unlocked 24/7. On a honor system, you help yourself and then put your $3 per dozen in a slot in another door.
Might investigate in a home tank.....
This time of year it is easy to keep minnows at home. It is always a good option.
I just drove over to see if there was a sign. They have been closing on Sunday and Monday for winter hours thru December. Might have been a family emergency or something.
I was over there Sat and again Tuesday and they were closed both days. I don't use minnows but could have used a breakfast sandwich. I'll be better prepared next time.
I just spoke with Kathy and she said they probably won't be open until next Wednesday. It depends on whether Jerry has surgery or not. I heard he took a fall.
We went in this past Tuesday afternoon about 4:00pm and they were closed. However the young lady next door came over and opened up for us. She said her grandad was dealing with some back problems and also said if we come and they are closed to check with her if her car was there.
Not worth chasing minnows with as many people use jigs tipped with niblets,,,,I’ll never use minnows again
Crappie bites? Yup,,,Berkeley crappie nibbles,,,,they lovem. Chartreuse is my favorite color,,,,once the fish bite, they don’t want to let it go,,,
