I use:
size 2 on 1/8
size 4 or 6 on 1/16 and 1/32
size 6 on 1/64
I am fishing vertically from 25’ and deeper. I am using 1/4 heads to get the bait down and keep it there. Would you recommend a #2 hook on them or larger?
#6 on 1/32
#8 on 1/64
I fish #2 most of the time with 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4. Sometimes I pour #1 Or even 1/0 hooks for folks. Just #2 is my universal size. I am talking for pan fishing. Up here we are walleye fishing and use 3/0 on 1 oz and 3/4oz. Then 2/0 on 5/8 and 1/2.
I fish 1/4 oz most of the time and use #1 for 2 to 2 1/2" bait and a 2/0 for 3" and 4" baits for crappie. Usually put as big a hook in it that the mold will hold.

I believe it depends on the average size crappie one has in there area. I personally use #2 for 1/32, 1/16,1/8 jigs
I'm a #4 on most crappie jigs.
I keep it simple….#2 Litewirehooks on all sizes
1/4oz I use size 1 to 1/0. Have even used 2/0
1/0 for all sizes. Even the little ones like it.
Looking at my stash I found several dozen 1/4 oz heads on #2 hooks left over from my winter time white bass fishing on Bull Shoals lake. I put one of my stingers on it. Is it too big for the bait?

Not at all to me. Actually that hook gets to the place on the body where it's very effective.
Dayne it is amazing how small of crappie and bluegill I have caught on #1 and #2 hooks and I have an 11.1 lb walleye caught on a 1 oz jig with a #12 treble stinger. They were short striking that day. The stinger is all that brought her to the boat. I certainly don't fully understand it all but when a fish wants that bait it will get it.
#4 on most everything up to 1/8oz
