I was lucky enough to get this gal yesterday on a hand tied nymph fished slowly under a bobber...and she's back in the pond to maybe get a little bigger!

That is a big 'gill!!
That is a nice fish.
That is a pig. One chunky fish. Congrats
Beautiful gill and on your own tie too! Do you have a pic of that pond and is it being managed for bluegills? Thanks.
Great fish.

Super sized, eh? How about a pic and recipe for the nymph:biggrin
That's a big Gill alright ! Looks like it's been eating well too.
Nice !
I don’t know how much bigger this gal could get without exploding! Wow, what a platter.

Sorry, everyone...I messed up. The pic above is one I already posted...this is the one I meant to post. Pardon me...I'm old and slow.

Equally impressive! And prettier.
That’s a whopper for sure!
Still a good fish!

That one is a beauty as well. That first one was something else!

Monsters! Congratulations.
Here's a pic of the nymph...recipe is fairly simple...egg hook or a nymph hook ( I think a #8), 5/32" brass bead, black thread, standard olive chenille, and colored rubber legs off an old jig skirt.Attachment 412475
Looks like a winner! Thank you.
Good stuff, all the way around. I don’t tie the bead nymph but tie a jig that’s similar and it also works well. Gotta love a bluegill that look like a saucer!
Wow! :HandsClapping:HandsClapping:HandsClapping
Both of them are great catches
The fight must have been like fighting a 1 1/2 lb bass! Love those mutant sunnies.
