Vet do a you tube search for a video on changing a thermostat for your model. You should find the exact one of one similar. It's a very simple job, just make sure you clean the block of the old gasket and install a new one which should come with the thermostat. If it doesn't come with one be sure to get one.

What makes you think you have a thermostat problem? No water coming out the pee hole! The first thing I would check is the overboard tell tail hose, disconect it from the crowling and run a piece of wire up it to check it for obstruction, mud dobbers love to clog small holes. Hope this helps. If not and you need to go further follow that hose to the eng block and that should be the thermostat.
Not sure yet. I sucked up some mud and shell last weekend and the alarm sounded and the telltail was intermittently peeing but even when it did pee the alarm went off… so I will break it down…been wanting to change the impeller anyway and may change the thermostat also…

Wise decision.

Dat's nasty
I believe most of it will. I would want to replace that impeller for sure. Those are some nasty Chucks in there. I would definitely flush it out well while I had the foot apart to change the impeller/ water pump
Vet, look like you ran that motor in the parking lot. With the foot off you can flush upward through the water tube and then flush back through the thermostat opening before you install a new one. Do it both way many times.

I would want as much of that out as I could. I had a motor that would overheat occasionally. Drove me crazy trying to find out what was causing it. Found a blown up umpeller all through the water jacket. I used a power washer to knock a good deal of it out of the block
Yep, that'll do it. Glad to see you found the issue.
Got me scratchin' my head now, 'bout runnin' skinny water.
You run skinny or not at all!!!

I watched an advertisement for a tunnel hull with a jet running skinny. That boat had to be skimming the bottom. Scary stuff

How much did you get out of the motor?
Hopefully it will be smooth and easy for you
I know a lot of members will disagree with me on this one, BUT I run really skinny shallow water so I removed my thermostat and only put the housing part back in place. We don't get the really cold weather down in my neck of the woods so I have never had an issue with not having the thermostat. Been doing it this way for as long as I can remember.
I had ran one for 3 years and found out it didn't have a thermostat
A lot of the marsh fishermen here run it this way. We have more issues with the thermostat keeping the motor from running in shallow water, gets clogged up and doesn't let the water flow through to keep engine cool. I don't know anyone that runs the marsh like I do that actually runs with the thermostat in.
How does this come out?

The black gasket

The ones I have fooled with just slide up
This one is stuck. Can’t reuse it cuz I damaged it. Thinking about using a drill.

Don't know if I would want to use a drill on it. Should be bearings underneath that seal
Best I can tell from the diagrams it is a press fit seal. Having the replacement in hand would better tell you how to remove it. I would believe the outer band holding the seal into the bore is metal reinforced.
I’ll send a pic of the new one

punch a hole in it and pry it out with a screw driver
Seals with the o ring. The one in the motor likely has some corrosion and is a little stuck. I would gently work a screwdriver around between the housing and the rubber piece. Should be able to pop it out pretty easily
Is oil going to come out once this seal is removed?
Sent from my iPad using Crappie.com
Oil level should be below that seal
New thermostat is installed. Now on to the oil seal carrier.
