Kinda Christmasy look. Really like those. Simple but flashy.
They look great, bet they will catch some fish.
Good looking ties
Nice, they look good.
I like those!
Kiptail always looks better tied sparse like that. Nice work.
What size hook is that? I like it.
Nice ties, kiptail is good stuff!

Wow large hook for kiptail, guess you got lucky with some long hair kiptails. I use to buy them and would always call in my order and talk to them about what I wanted including long hair kiptails and not the really short stuff. That short kiptail would be hard to tie and cover the hook to the end. I had some made that were designed for kiptail and used a #6 Sickle in them and they work very well. The thing that make this head so good is it has a very thin collar with a flair at the end which helps hold the hair in place and fair just a touch and control thread neck size.

Love it! Are there any advantages of kitptail over bucktail? I see it’s more of a wire hair than straight hair like bucktail. Would love to have it in my arsenal but every time I see it on the tail it seems short in length so I never get it. Keep wanting to try it. I love a hair jig.
I tie jigs up to 1 oz. I like bucktail and have lots of it so I don't use kip tail with my small hair jigs. I do like the look of the jigs with kiptail though. Don't think I've ever fished one so can't really compare. I've bought kip but it is too short for ole fumble fingers here and never even opened a package.
Might be just me...but I catch more fish on kip than buck. But I also fish it more. The short hair is great for gill jigs.

I agree Skip. I have to be careful with some of my bucktail as it will crush and flair out like a bad hair day. As if I had hair. LOL I tend to think their is a big difference between young and old deer tails but they don't come with age tag. One thing I do know is that I use Kevlar thread on my bucktail to lock it in and not pull out with toothy critters. If I pull too tight, and you can pull a lot, it will flair really wide. Tend to pull really tight in the first third of my wraps from the head and back off tension on the back end to calm down flair. Hollow hair is finicky for sure.
All of what you're saying is what I have seen also and I think kiptail is a lot easier to tie because of the hollow hair the bucktail has. I also prefer to find Souther Deer to tie with because the hair is more fine and not as much trouble to me. So when they say Large Northern Bucktails I know that's not what I want most of the time. However they do have their place too. The deer up where you are will have larger hair than the ones down here and will flair worse.
