Thanks...looking forward to hitting one or both lakes now that weather is cooling (boat traffic settling down) and hunting has started. Will wait for the Covered Bridge festival to end before hitting Raccoon though. Need to catch it before it falls too low, also. That’s why I like Cat - they only pull it down 3 ft. Hopefully soon.
Water temps cooling fast. Was on a small reservoir Saturday and had 63-64 degrees. A friend was at Cataract same day and had 66 deg., that was before all this cold rain. Losing temps fast. Crappie were still biting though. Hoping to get out again over the next day or two given the forecast.

Beautiful colors on those blacks, thanks for sharing!
Those are some Dandy ones their
Very nice!
Nice black crappie. Is that the dominant crappie in the small reservoir?

Air temps supposed to go below freezing at nite mid to end of next week.
Surface tenps were down to 59-60 by Thu. afternoon. Temps falling fast, but will really drop next week. Crappie were still biting though. Picked up 60 at EC and about 40-45 at HL the next day. Hoping to hit Coon or Cat soon if water stabilizes…or Lemon.

EH is on north west side of Indy, motor size 10 or less only on boat. HL is private lake in west central Part of state with 10 crappie limit and you must have a lake permit to launch and fish so off limits to most everybody.
All the central IN reservoirs have completely turned over including Monroe and Brookville, though those two still had deep oxyclines. Oxygen readings are on the rebound and looking good overall. Saw some reports of nice fish from Brookville and Geist over the weekend. Looking to get out a couple times this week now that the rain has been yanked from the forecast and they are calling for light winds (<10 mph). Hopefully some new reports posted soon from a couple different lakes.
Awesome!! Keep us posted. I keep thinking I will get out…might still,,but chasing deer. If I ever get my pre-ordered HB Mega Live,.that will screw my deer hunting up. :biggrin I will definitely been on the water.
Haven’t been able to access the Louisville Lake Reports page since the rains hit. Just saw Raccoon up 4 ft over summer pool according to their FB page, and saw a report that Cat was “flooded,” but no idea how high. Not a fan of fishing high water, so will likely stay on the more stable reservoirs in the mean time. Hit HL yesterday and caught a nice mix of bass and crappie. Water a better than expected 57.5 deg. Bigger reservoirs should be a little warmer.

Fished EC Thu and Fri. afternoon. Water stained with maybe a foot of vis. and surface temps 55 degrees. Had 77 crappie Thu. and 82 Fri, along with a few white bass and largemouth in the mix.

Awesome pics. Wished I was fishing but chasing bucks right now as they are going nuts and rut is close to peaking.
Water down to 53-54 deg., but clearing up a little. Buddy and I had about 150 on Monday afternoon, and I went back and caught another 120 on Tues. Both docks are now out of the water at EC.

Way to go Brian! Gosh, I haven't seen Pete in probably 25 years.
Pete and I back out on the water yesterday, this time to Cataract for a few hours. Ended with over 150, and we were pleasantly surprised with the overall quality. Probably could have had a double limit of 10s and above. Water a couple of degrees warmer at 55-56 deg., and lake was about 2 ft. below summer pool (think they are still pulling). Absolutely perfect weather - maybe the last of it for the year...we'll see.

I am taking my old buddy who has always been an avid bass fisherman for most of his life. Had to sell his boat this year because he is almost blind. Gonna set him beside me up front and push minnows. Not sure he will be able to see the tip of 14 ft poles. No way he will be able to see anything on the 12 inch Garmin to single pole but that’s ok. I’ll have to bait poles and remove his fish but that’s ok too.
Just happy he still wants to go out on the boat.
He is a good man and so sorry he is loosing his sight.

Awesome Chuck. Good friend you are. Take him as long as he wants to go... it will be good for him. Even if he doesn't catch anything.
That is a good thing you are doing. I hope we are all lucky enough to have friends like you if we find ourselves in a similar fate.
Water temps down to 47 degrees. Crappie are moving into wintering areas in good numbers. Had 87 in a couple hours Tues and 135 in under 3 hrs Fri. Topped 5,000 crappie for the year during the first trip.
