Honest opinions. This would be used around exposed structure...

Looks like a lot of work. What's the intended target? I would give it a try and watch the results. Good luck.
Panfish mostly, but I fish mostly for crappie. Not saying I wont keep what ever hits it...
Good looking jig.
Thank you Jack
Pretty cool. Sure it will catch something for you. Let us know how it works.
I have seen the bass devour the downed dragonflies on the surface
Good looking jig
Cool. It will flip over in the water so it will look injured which is good. Let us know how it works.
The wings look great !
Very intricate jig design. You nailed and critters catch fish.
Very creative JD- think an alternative jig name could be DragginSlab-

Heck of a try there! Looks like a Mosquito Hawk as I called it, the Dragonfly to me is one of the smaller one that look a lot like the larger Mosquito Hawk, but usually are prettier? LOL
Anyway heck of a job done by you and think something will eat that bug!

Thank you Skip. Yes sir, Mosquito Hawk, Skeeter Hawk for short...I appreciate the kind words. Not sure how to clean up all the wraps and get the wings attached right. But I'm working on it. Not much help on the matter around here in the area I know of, so it's a trial and error situation. Any advice from the master would be appreciated. Thank you again.
Hey maybe this will help a little!

I think I like trial by error best. I get ideas from these folks and then start to tinker with it. I tend to learn more and retain more. At my age retention has become the bigger challenge.
As stated earlier I would post up some pics. Unfortunately I wasn't where the skeeterhawk would work so I used other hand ties I had done up at the same time. Only got a couple hours in before the rain chased me away. One day I'll I'll get at least a rain jacket if not the whole suit, hahaha. The black and chartreuse worked very well, and the red, gold chartreuse had several hits...
All were small 7"-8", and got released back to grow some more. I tried to get a pick of the green water, but the calm water reflected the clouds but I got some that may show it well enough...and a pick of a fellow fishers bucket with lake water in it..Attachment 407358Attachment 407359Attachment 407360Attachment 407361Attachment 407362Attachment 407363Attachment 407364Attachment 407365

And here some picks of the bridge I fish off most times as it's not far from the house. I am standing about mid-way of the bridge...Attachment 407366Attachment 407367

Glad to see you and SuperDave336 enjoyed it and I see it's doing just what I hoped it would, set or start some fire ideas burning inside.
