I haven't had a chance to do much crappie fishing so yesterday they were the target. While heading out I came upon big pods of catfish feeding on top in over 200' of water. Too good of an opportunity to pass up for the girls. They caught 6 in 30 minutes and then we moved on searching for crappie. The first spot had some nice fish but the bite was really tough to figure out, little more than a nudge. Not unusual for this time of year. The next spot held some crappie but it was hard to get past the catfish. The 3rd spot was the bite we were looking for. Good aggressive strikes that my great niece could hook. They were also nailing the white Trout Magnet on the drop. Watching the line dart then reeling fast to catch up to them was good fun. In general the crappie were 17-20' deep in 40' of water
