I'd consider it a legal catch, since both fish were attempting to eat the bait. The fact that they got entangled in the line is their own misfortune. :twocents
I've caught doubles on two hook rigs but never like this.. thought it was pretty cool.

Yes, that is pretty interesting. Nice catch but kinda different!

Interesting catch. They love those Catalpa worms
My goodness how deep were those fish. I'm guessing 50+ ft.

Not sure the depth they were caught. I was sitting in 10 foot. I was bream fishing for flathead bait and decided to toss a rod out the back of the boat in a current seam when I got those. Actually lucked up catching 2 nice crappie though just dragging a wiggler on the bottom with a 1/8 ounce splitshot in an eddy spot on the river. The area I was fishing averages 10 to 18 feet deep in the channel bends. The flathead honey holes are around 22 to 35 feet deep on average. Depending on rain, it can push 40 foot in some areas.

never seen that one before , nice ketch
possibly legal depending on what state is my guess
If it is foul hooked then not considered a legal catch in most states I believe
Alabama law states that fish are to be harvested with a hook and line also with noodling.Although, noodling is something I would never dare to do especially this far South, I like all of my fingers. So technically I'm covered either way LOL.

Catalpa worms!?!?! I haven’t seen one in over twenty years. I’m in northeast Arkansas. I think the agri chemicals killed em all.

Crazy way to catch a fish. Dang you're good! :cheers2
Some of the guys I work with carry the Japanese supporters out to noodle catfish. They have a blast
