I’ve given up on Xpress building any stick steering boats in the near future. If you are running a different brand stick steer in Arkansas I’d like to to know your comments on it! I may have to consider a crestliner or Lowe!

I too, have a Tracker Pf16. If I were to buy another Stick Steer, it would be a War Eagle 17 foot. Vastly improved layout with a lot of storage.

I have an xpress stick steer and like it. My son has a war eagle stick steer that is a very good boat. The war eagle doesn’t have as much storage space but I would sure have to look hard at it if I was buying a new one.Have you called Big River Marine about an xpress?
I like the war eagle 754vs but new would be too pricey. Used ones show up occasionally and I’m seriously watching for one.
I haven’t called big river marine because my contact at the factory reports they removed the Xpress stick steer from the catalog and there are no plans to build any until MAYBE 2023. There’s a rumor that it was being redesigned but tabled until they are better caught up with production post-COVID.
Love my 754VS. If you can find one it’s only stick steer I’d have. Took me almost a year to find mine.
I have a 754vs and after buying it I installed hydraulic steering and it's the greatest thing ever
Hey cray and pops - how about posting some pics of your 754VS’s? I’d especially like to see closeups of front seat floor area. Thanks!
Check out Andalusia Marine......They are the Stick Steer pros......I ordered one (Alweld) and they built it like i wanted. I too Like the war eagle, as i already have a Predator for trolling. But the Alweld stick steer is stout. I got the 1652 and love it. Put a 50 HP 4 stroke Yamaha, electric anhors on the front and back, 24 volt 70# Minkota , and a Helix 10 Side Image. Its a nice ride
I really don’t have any pictures of the front deck layout. I’ll try to get a couple tomorrow. But to me that is the one negative I have with the boat. On my hull the front deck from seat post forward slopes up some, and for me with my limited mobility in my legs anymore makes it hard for me to stand up to launch or retrieve my trolling motor. My right ankle doesn’t bend so it makes it real awkward. Now if I’m not mistake I think that has been changed in the newer designs but not positive.

As you can see from my rudamentry try it’s about a 3 1/2 inch drop from front edge to seat base and in second picture you can see seam just under your feet level then it progresses up to front dash panel edge. Hope this helps some.
I have a 1977 Kingfisher fiberglass stick steer that I really enjoy.
I have a War Eagle 1754 with hydraulic steering and do not think that I could have a better stick steering set up.
Mine was a 1994 Grumman 16/49
Front deck sloped up but also somewhat down to follow the bottom contour.
Still worked really well for my spider rigging setup.

I have a 754vs and I like it except when the water is rough but I am retired and and don't have to fish when the water is rough if I don't want to. I think they are good for other than crappie fishing as I catfish, sauger fish and still bass fish in mine. I have a 24 volt ulterra and it has made a huge difference over the foot control and with my bad back I don't have to pull that motor back in the boat every time I do another drift. I also bought a deck leveler for the front boat from Wareagle. They really don't advertise them but it has made the front deck a much more pleasant place, especially when getting in and out of the boat. I would post or send you a photo but my boat has been in the shop for a month.
I am just about ready to buy a 1652 Alweld Stick Steer boat. The one concern I have is that the lakes near me are restricted to a 9.9 hp motor. I know that the boat would not get on plane but I think it would push the boat pretty well. I'm 220 lbs and wife is 125 lbs. Any response would be appreciated. Thanks!
I have an Xpress 16 stick steer, absolutely love it. I have the same concerns about the 9.9 hp. It will let you putt putt around but with you being upfront with your controls I definitely don’t think you could ever get up on plane.
You are already aware that there won't be enough power to get up on plane, so it appears you will be happy just to putt around the lakes and fish. If that's the case, you're gonna love being up front and in control without having to move around. You're also going to like how many trips you can make on a 6 gallon portable gas tank! If that works for you go for it and enjoy!
I had a PF-16 for 20+ years and absolutely loved it. I was going to buy another stick steer and after looking at several different ones I settled on the Wareagle. I really liked the livewell on the side. I almost bought it then Livescope came out and it just wouldn't be practical for 2 people to Livescope out the front. I would be sitting too low to the water to swing 12 feet of line out to fish. Ended up buying A Ranger 188P with double seating in the front. I enjoy it but I miss so much about my stick steering Tracker.
As i stated elsewhere get a tohatsu, nissan or yamaha 9.9 2 stroke and swap out the throttle plate from the 15. You might be surprised at the power. if you watch your load you should be surprised.
Here is my 2011 Progator 154s Stick steer with a 50 hp Eveninrude Etec

Nice....Love fishing out of those.
Nice rig! Prolly will sell fast. I wound up buying a well used Xress xp16pf with a 40 hp Yamaha. Had to drive from south Arkansas to near Ville Platt Louisiana to get it. Love it and it’s probably my forever boat.
Thanks, it is a great Stick Steer boat.
It has been garage kept, Evinrude 50hp Etec w/low hours, has a Stainless prop, Brand new 7" Lowrance GPS depth finder, Minn kota 55lb trolling motor w/ Brand New 100ah Duracell Deep cycle, has a 10 gallon fuel tank, and new tires 2020.
Make your friends aware of it, I am willing to meet part way.
