I think that Saturday I will go out to experiment with Charlie Brewer Charlie Bees for gills. I've only used them for crappie previously. Anybody use them for bg?

I had a couple a while back and they did ok for me but I was casting them and lost it before too very long. They performed well, didn’t twist and so on.
I’m sure they’d work, but almost any small jig will take gills.
Got a pic??I love sliders. Have never heard of these.

Just googled it. Is that not just the one inch slider?

Crappie like them all the time but best early in the year when shad are small. Also good in shallow water.

I usually use a bunch of different jigs but I just found these stashed away and just thought I'd try something new.

as someone said any small jig will do for BG and would think with the buried hook would not be ideal for them with their smaller mouths.
Results of the test:
1 hr of fishing with just plain jigs produced nothing. Not usually the case on this water but happened. I switched to the the Charlie Bee with the spinner blade and my partner switched to a crappie magnet with a spinner blade. Strangely enough that changed the day completely. Not only did the fish want them but aggressively too. They were smashing these lures. The following 2 hrs produced 3 crappie. The largest at 13.5 inches. 18 bg between 9 and 10.5 inches. My conclusion is that some days they just want the extra flash of the blade. I really enjoyed testing this and learning yet another way to entice a bite. [emoji3]

I have used them and put a cricket on the hook tip and watch out. You will catch everything that swims. I know the cricket is cheating, but it works.
