For me I would say night fishing under lighted floats. With some sort of area lighting. Be it electric lights around boat ramps or parks or a white has Coleman lantern on a tripod at the waters edge. A bucket of good lively minnows. That method has always been the one to produce enough fish for a meal
the most productive way to bring home crappie for me and my family depends entirely on the lake, the time of year and the current conditions . yesterday was really long parallel or slightly diagonal casts and slow retrieves along the shore line at the muddy water spot we visited in short water . the day before was a real short pitch and let it fall in much deeper water with a much better visibility greenish clear waters at another lake. there is a reason I carry 5 or 6 different rods at all times in my truck . i used a 5 footer wednesday and an 8 footer yesterday ,totally different set ups for totally different presentations .:highfive
Can't mess with perfection

Crankbaits
Boat or bank?
This time of year as the water temp down here gets in the 80’s, dropping minnows on brush piles or long lining jigs deep works. Slow presentation works best for me. The fish bite better in the late evenings through mid-morning for me. If you are river fishing, hunt them on channel ledges where bottom has points that create eddies - lay downs and brush piles at these are a plus

Fish market!!!!:dono
When I decide to go fishing I look at what’s going on and decide if it’s a day to keep or not. If it’s a day to keep I root around in my bag of tricks and see which one is going to do the job for me. I learned that while it works well, spider rigging on an average day has a hard time holding my interest. Most everything else does well, and single pole shooting jigs into tight places gets me excited most.
Some days, ya just can’t beat a stick of ol TNT…dynamite
This time of the year it's crank baits for me.
Pushing 4 poles with double minnow rigs

If you use enough should be able to knock the scales off of them.
Fishing that Dupont spinner while shooting docks would probably account for extra jail time:biggrin
