Noise level is highest ever now and I don’t think we have peaked as we just recieved 2.7” of rain,,ground is soft….they are coming up everywhere. Dang things last 6 weeks and will have to put up with them till as late as mid July! I think everybody needs to eat some to keep them from breeding. :Rofl
I saw one today fly across our back yard. I have floaters in my right eye after undergoing cataract surgery and then Lasix surgery to correct for an astigmatism. So I see things flying around in my eye all the time. Fruit flies in the house can make me think I'm seeing floaters and floaters make me think I'm seeing bugs flying around my head at times. But this was a big cicada. I was waiting to see a cicada killer wasp swoop down and kill the thing. Those wasp/hornets have stinger that are 1/4" long or more. I got stung by one a few years back while camping at Audubon State Park. I was walking from the museum back to our camp site across an open grassy field when I got stung. And then later it stung my wife on the leg. I saw the dang wasp flying around low to the ground. The females are the ones that sting and there must have been an underground nest nearby. She was just guarding her nest and doing what nature programmed her to do. But man did that sting hurt. I felt pain for two days after I got stung.
