Finally some bluegill.
It might not be as big as my neighbor “led head, the giant bluegill from Perris” but at least I’m happy I got some especially this year when crappie fishing is super slow. Only caught a few 5-6 each day but that enough to make me stop looking for those big bass.

Nice looking fish and better eating in my opinion.

Well those West Coast Gills are great looking specimens for sure, growing season and good genes make for some fun fishing. Congrats and with this Super Blood Red Flower Moon upcoming they should be even more active!

Great looking fish. The one in the fourth pic with the orange on the bottom behind the gills is similar, color wise, as the one I caught last Sunday. Glad to see another with similar colors. Those fish would keep me interested, even if they don’t come in jumbo size.

Pretty fish.

To tell you the truth, I think the "regular" bluegills fight harder than the coppernose.

Thanks all, i don’t wanna say I like bluegill better than bass. I’m not sure why I spend more time on bluegill when I can catch 5-6lb bass regularly. It might be the way they bite when slow retrieve that get me excited. The weird thing though I don’t usually fish bass with swimbait, mostly bottom contact. Anyway let add the one I caught last evening shall we.
