Great looking jigs buddy
Sent from my iPhone using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
I like it a lot! Orange head on that too be dynamite. Have to tell me how ya did the chenille on bottom ones. Also constructive criticism, might stop the chenille at the point of the hook. Looks a little long on the bottom ones.
Great looking colors Dave. It have to agree with DrNip on length of Chennel.
Looking good
Thanks guys, yeah I know that about the chenille length stopping or should at hook point. Don't know why or haven't even payed attention to these. I'm blaming it on the constant interruptions from my daughters getting out of bed....lol. I was playing with colors and materials more than anything. The best video I've found on tying that weave is from SK. He makes it pretty easy looking. It's tough to get them consistent especially when you don't do them often....lol. There are some other weaves on Fly Anglers Online under the advanced tying section as well.

Nice ties. I just revisited FAOL awhile back and it’s a shame that the site kind of died, but there is still a nice archive of articles and fly recipes there. I probably have over 200 flies or more on disk, and every one I tried worked. Some I just never got to. I want to start tying again - it is a great hobby. This forum gets me interested.

As SK says, the ones with jagged sides will get bit more often than ones with straight lines along the sides. It's like the Tiger Weave...
Thanks Dave, they look awesome. Keep them coming
Looking good!
Why not use the lessons everyone learned the weaving from?
Here is what you do, click on this.... http://flyanglersonline.com
Then click on Fly Tying, then click on Advanced Tying and choose the kind of weave you want!
This is where I learned the weave tying and started the whole thing years ago. I still have to go back to these lessons to refresh my mind when I tie weaves since I don't do it much any more.

I reference Fly Anglers Online in my post. I have reviewed those lessons many times and always look back at them but I learn easier by watching a video. Actually one of the easiest to understand the weave is from another guy tying the fly. Good stuff, hopefully one day mine will look as good as the ones they do. Good thing the fish don't care.....lol. Actually I don't use the weave for my normal fishing jigs. Just quick and easy, does the job. This was just messing around.
Nice work Dave, good colors too. I’ve tied some winners out of random pieces of material left over or laying around on the desk.
Digging those colors SuperDave! Nice work.
Nice

Did another go at the weave but this time did it a little different where I cut the thread to do the weave then tied back on. Not sure about this. Definitely made weaving easier but sort of hassle to tie back on and possibly not as secure. :dono Anyway more ammo for me to use.
Those looking good to me. Crappie ought to tear them up... Yes it is easier to tie after tying off and cutting thread. I found turning vise towards me when weaving helps a lot two.
Good looking stuff Dave. Looks like you matched everything up that you wanted to.
It’s ok, not exactly what I want but good enough. I doubt fish will be as picky as we can get sometimes. Have some more ideas running around in my head if I can ever find time to try them. Thanks
