The Clark boat launch is out of service due to the rising pool. The Shenango launch is closed due to the road construction in the Shenango Recreation Area. The Mahaney, Golden Run, Parkers, and Hartford launches are open.
LAKE INFO FOR MONDAY, MAY 10:
Lake elevation: 897.68, 3 feet above normal summer pool
24 hour elevation change: +1.6 feet
Gate openings at the dam: Gates 1,3,5,and 7 are open 1 foot each
Outflow depth: 3.18 feet
River depth at Transfer: 6.32 feet
Weather: Clear
8 am air temp: 38
8 am lake water temp: 58
8 am river water temp: 55
24 hour precip: 1.2 inches of rain

New update:

The Golden Run Wildlife Area is currently closed. The lake elevation has risen by 0.32 feet since 8:00 am. The Mahaney, Parkers, and Hartford launches are still open.

Sorry I didn’t see this before adding to the sticky post.

Anyway, had an outstanding day on da lake this morning. Caught over thirty crappies and perch in an hour and a half. All good size males too.

My bud from Pittsburgh came up this morning and fished with me. Put a nice bunch in the livewell before the wind picked up and blew us away. Had close to 2 foot rollers hammering the lake by 11 AM. Finished with 30.

The water is real high but some areas aren’t so muddy. Mahaney launching is hard but doable. Dock boarding ramps were under water this morning. Had to climb in boat from pavement. Better when coming off. Hopefully they get some of that water out of the lake by the weekend. Be careful coming in the park. Lots of nasty potholes.

I’m headed to mosquito lake in the morning. Hopefully it’s not as high as Shenango.

Lake was about 1 1/2 feet high water was muddy, fish were in 8 -12 feet caught 8 nice ones 10-12” and a lot of small ones . Water temp 58 degrees. Maybe by this time next week it will be better. Next Monday going to Port Clinton for a 5 day walleye trip, I post some pictures. You have a great day tomorrow [emoji476][emoji476][emoji476][emoji476]

Kenny whats the fry coating you like to use on crappie,you told me once but age hasnt helped the memory dept.I blame it on covid brainfog these days

I’m using a Cajun style now named Slap yo Mama. It’s delicious. I still use Fish d lit also. I got the slap yo mama from Amazon. The other from Benton, Ky.

I use saltine crackers or cheez-it’s or Doritos fine crumbled with egg wash, if you want I put honey mustard in the wash for a different taste. I fry my fish
