I am about 1 hour up stream from Havasu. CRAZY BIG redear down there. My PB measured 13" and caught on a home tied jig. Didn't have a scale just a frying pan.

That is one fat redear. Amazed at the girth of that fish. I caught one there on May 17th, 2015 that was a post spawn female and it was 17" long with a girth of 18" and she weighed 4-09. Extra two inches girth made a huge difference in the weight. I bet there's more that size still swimming in Havasu.
They had long suspected that 6lb redear were present in Havasu. I think some people doubted that claim but here's proof. I get real excited when I reel in a 1.5lb redear, I'd piss myself reeling in that fish!!
Yeah, that is one that would make anyone nervous when you brought her up and saw what you had. Sonny use to post some monsters from LP, maybe he will be at it again soon. He has a good touch. Congrats to this angler!Quote:
