Can anyone share with me any information about the conditions of High Rock? Trying to decide whether or not to plan a fishing trip there. It is a long way from Greer, SC to the lake.
Thanks

These guys just went over the weekend.[emoji1318]
Also one Site shows lake down 4ft so probably could fit under any bridge.
I was there yesterday. Its as pretty as ive seen in a long time (before this rain today). Its also extremely low. Lowest ive seen in a long time!
I agree to this! I went Saturday and caught quit a few but mostly small. I got into the bigger ones in the last hour of fishing. My father in law went Sunday and did pretty good. The best bite came off of long line jigs no special color. They was still deep 20 to 30 fow. Water temp was 56. I have also been told they was biting pretty good at Badin as well. Its not but about 10 to 15 min drive from high rock.Sent from my SM-N960U using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
It's very low as Pete said... but very fishable fish have moved back out to deeper water with the colder temps... I was whacking em Sunday in 1.5 to 2 ft of water... on a jig 8 to 10 inches under a cork...74 nice crappie in 2 hours... went yesterday after work only caught 4 shallow all little males
Ontario Power purchased the electricity producing facilities at High Rock bout 2 years ago. Ontario Power owns numerous power producing facilities throughout the country. With the Texas freeze and power shortage last month Ontario has been producing power here and selling it to Texas. They can continue to pull the water for power until the first of April. At that time the lake must stay within 4 ft of full pond until October. (bearing a drought) One would assume the lake will come back up in the next several weeks. Storms forecasted for Thursday so could rise by this weekend. This info provided by HRLA.
The HRLA website showing the current lake level also shows the median level for that month. The median level hasn't been reached in a long time, tho.
On another note, we went Wednesday and had a good day.
In the morning, they were in 14 FOW, flat on the bottom.
In the afternoon, we caught them in 9 FOW.
Wife caught her PB - 1 lb 6 oz, 12 3/4".
Bait was so thick that my Humminbird would mistake the balls for the bottom.
Water temp was 54 - 57.
