Turtle Cr. is open and largely ice free now. No idea if any crappie still live there or not, but saw a few bass are already being caught.
Most everything south is open. And the river is rolling.
Patoka is open. Friend of mine just called a cabin rental and the Park Marina and they told him lake is open. He is going there Sat morning just to break in a new 250 Yamaha in a brand new 21’ Skeeter he just bought and spend the day breaking motor in. East fork of the White River is wide open at Bedford, Williams, and Shoals for those that chase small mouth and ky spots among other fish. Rive is about 5’ high which makes good fishing.
As of yesterday Raccoon still had ice
Dogwood still iced in yesterday. (Feb.26th). Have not been to West Boggs since Thursday but ramp was close to ice out, would think it would be clear now with ice still in shaded coves. South coves at Turtle Creek are still iced over according to local pilot (Thursday) reported fly over.
Central IN still has a ways to go, but we’re getting there. Temps near 60 this weekend along with the forecasted 0.5-1.0” of rain might do it by early next week.
Here is the view on Morse Res this morning:

Saw a few reports today. Cataract started opening up today. Heavy ice upriver but lower end launchable with ice in the coves still. Raccoon frozen still but thawing. Monroe some open water on the big lake but ramps were still frozen, but getting close.
1.8” of rain. Going to muddy everything up.
Only 0.64” so far here in central IN, and it sure did a number on the remaining ice. If we don’t get hammered tonight, we’ll be good to go this week. Cleaned the boat today, and prepped tackle with plans on being on the water midweek after the temps warm back up and the water stabilizes.
Lemon ice free,,muddy,,temp 39-40. Monroe, idle zone muddy, heavy stained to Paynetown, water temp 37.
