Also got a new 7 inch hook reveal to install up front.....nothing fancy or super expensive....but it should do what I need it to do

I think I'm going to head down and de-winterize the RV on Monday.

I've been ice fishing in KS with this past cold front. It's been about 3 weeks since my boat has been on the water. Ill be out soon. Last year around this time I found really nice fish towards the south end of the lake in 60 fow. Hopefully the pattern is the same. Ill keep you guys updated
What was your setup for targeting in 60 ft? Deepest I’ve tried was about 40/45.....used a drop shot style setup, maybe 1/4 or 3/8 oz casting/dipsey style sinker with 1/0 owner drop shot hook about 2 ft or so above sinker.....lip hooked minnows and small plastics.....on 8 lb fluorocarbon

I dont catch to many this time of the year. If catch 7-10 a trip thats a really good day for me. Most of the ones I do catch around this time are 1.5-2lbs though. Early season like this I spider rig multiple rods around with a 2oz sinker and 2 way jig until I see a decent size school. Then ill use the livescope and try to catch them that way. It just varies on the day. I dont discriminate on any method of fishing, Im new to the lake, just trying to figure things out still
I'll most likely fish for something else till they move more shallow. I release a lot of my fish and feel it's a death sentence for a 8 or 9 inch crappie bringing it up from way down there. If 10killer didn't have a 10" minimum I could just keep and eat a dink. Luckily other species are sometimes in the upper 20 feet even in the dead of winter. Be good to be back on the lake, tho'.

Anyone know for sure if lake passes are suspended still
Sent from my iPhone using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
I can’t speak for Tenkiller but I know on Kaw it is until at least April. I would assume it’s all lakes

I'm not sure what you mean by lake passes suspended but I was able to purchase my annual lake pass today.
Fished for a few hours today. Nothing special. Water temp 42, massive shad balls every where, marked lots of fish but not a single bite. Hope you guys do better than me.Attachment 395379

So much for the cold water shad die off.

It appears they are suspended until further notice....but yes....I was talking about the annual boat use passes....if I’m wrong let me know

Fishing report was nothing....had one fish on for a few half days of fishing and it got off.....melted some wires in one boat....appears the ignition switch failed and luckily this occurred at the house and not on the water!!! We were at mid lake area and we saw water temps in low 40s as well

The lady at Tenkiller station said they no longer give out window stickers. They will use your license plate as your tag going forward. $60. I also noticed a new text to pay feature they have. Signs all over the lake entrance.
Which lake entrance?

Anybody fish this weekend?
Went fishing Saturday, to say it was tough would be an understatement.
WT 45, water stained from goat island up.
Beautiful day!!

It was a beautiful day. I planted 10 acres of clover and did some much needed maintenance at the Farm. I would rather have been on Hugo.
Will be at the Farm on Wednesday for some repairs but will try to check water temp at Hugo. I'm itching to be rippin lips.
I am looking to take my father in law fishing soon and wondered if anyone could recommend fishing locations accessible without a boat? Docks or shorelines? Indoor docks? Likely 3 adults and a child.
Thanks!
Sorry Jdl I didn’t see your post until just now.
Caney ridge marina used to let you fish with a few. That was long ago so I would call first.
If I was going to fish off the bank I would try cherokee state park, petit bay, or little Sizemore.

Good stuff! Man that water looks great.
As a side note, if you happen to be fishing that area, my daughter dropped a St Croix Legend X/Shimano Stella fishing rod combo into the water last night. If anyone happens to fish it out please send me a PM. Thanks
Sucks on the rod/reel over the boat.....I did it to one of my dads poles when I was probably 10 or so.....it’s almost like a right of passage with kids and fishing.....dads just have to accept it!! Oh no....my kids are 11 and 13 but we haven’t lost any yet......I have a bad feeling all of a sudden

I’m late on the report due to work but we had success in caney creek this last weekend for sandbass...only 2 crappie but we didn’t target them.....baits of choice roadrunners, redeye shad, small Alabama rig but I think we all know you can dang near use anything this time of year. Well over 100 sandbass caught over a couple of afternoons....highest water temp we saw was 60 in the afternoon.Attachment 397229yAttachment 397230Attachment 397231

Great pics all, I love grilled fish!
Very nice 10killer.
That's the 2nd rod my daughter dropped into the water. Ironic that the combo is the exact same thing as before. I guess that rod isn't meant to be mines lol. And yes I also enjoy eating whitebass as well. I'll be back out soon...
Sweet pics!
Glad you all are getting out there and chasing the fish.
Lots of sandbass caught this weekend.
More boats on the upper end of the lake, than I have seen in my whole life! No kiddin.

Went this afternoon and WT was 58, I guess the rain last week dropped it 5 degrees or so.
Fish were still biting.
LOTS of people fishing for sandbass on the upper end.
