Let me first say that due to health issues I have not fished either lake in 15 years but may start again soon. I know that most of you prefer 'ville over Clinton. So here is my question. I was watching Brushpile Fishing. Brian Cleland was at ville and the Clinton episode was with Stoddard I think. Both in February. The crappie caught seemed very close in quality and quantity in both places. Why is the ville the preferred lake?

I believe it's due to the size of the lakes. Shelbyville has more water to fish. Both are good fisheries an welcome back to fishing.
I think the average angler has a better chance on the "Ville due to the sheer volume of lake. Clinton is great if you know it well. Personally I like 'Ville better as I can just keep fishing spots till I find fish. I run out of spots to try on Clinton because I don't know it as well.
I *USED* to know Clinton very well. Years back I placed in the top 3 places of many tournaments there. Now... the lake has surely changed quite a bit since then so I think I would be close to starting from scratch. I know the fish are there but the quality structure probably has changed. :donoQuote:

You see I was in a very bad motorcycle accident that left me with permanent brain damage. One of the battles with that is dizziness and balance issues. Bad ones and it can come on at any minute. So I often have to cancel my plans at the last minute. Hard to fish on a set schedule that way. But I used to live for tournaments. Fishing and friends. Just a great hobby/sport. All is not lost my friend. We register for the tournaments at the ramp. Sign the form, pay the entrance fee and fish. 100% payout after we weigh fish. We usually pay top 3 teams, plus big fish. Big fish is optional. If we get more boats, we pay more places. $30 per team, plus $10 for big fish. If you can't fish the whole day and need to leave early, so be it. Text me and let me know your leaving, or we will assume you left if your truck and trailer are gone when we get back to the ramp. Of the truck is still there and your not, we will call first, then send out teams looking for you. We account for every entered team at the scales.
