I've had Scotty's on my tin boat for a few seasons now. They work out just fine.
Millineum Spyder Loks
What is the purpose for adding the rod holders, Trolling, storage, spider rigging, etc. I made my own and it does all 3 for me. I will take a picture of mine after breakfast and post it up. Homemade, using store bought stuff.
Spyder Lock 2nd to none. Their so good I sleep with mine!!!!!!!!
I like the Spyderlok system as well.
Millennium Marine Sypder Locks are awesome. They adjust in every direction possible and are super sturdy. You'll want this flexibility when spider rigging so you can get your spread correct as well as your tip height off the water. Can't go wrong with em.
greatplump this is my homemade rod holder setup for tight spaces. It may be hard to see on the Stbd side due to black in the background but Port is easy to see. The second to last wire form holder is full length and the other 3 per side are cut down, re-threaded, reinstalled. The base is 7/8in handrail material with Driftmaster 7/8in Rod Holder Bases. I carry my 4 main single poling rods 2 on each side and can set out a rod or 2 on each side while single poling if I choose. Or I can set up to 8 spider rods out. Although they are very low to the deck when I do decide to spider rig my gear is at the ready.

Spyderloc....check with cane pole here...I think they are on sale.
Support those that support us. Driftmaster makes great products. David Baynard, the owner, is a super nice guy and can help make custom shapes/designs too. And their components work great on your own DIY projects. Be sure to check them out.

Old timers done it again....EZ Poleholder not cane pole..
I’ve been using Hi-Tek Stuff extreme for a lot of years, over ten, without issue. Father and son team build these and do a fine job. Scott, or Callshy, is a good man and easy to deal with. Never turned a rod sideways in them and some big catfish have tried.
I decided to make my own sand spikes for holding rods while surf fishing. Each year the design changed and I ended up with some really odd configurations. Spent a lot of money chasing around when I should have just bought a nice set to begin with. DIY is probably not the best choice for most of us and there are some really nice designs to be had.
I am going to go with Elite Rod Holders HD Pro. These have lots of adjustment to suit me. The Millennium holders look nice but I am concerned with mounting to my aluminum boat. Will the rods be where I would benefit the most ? The Elites can be mounted forward on the deck, and then adjusted back to me, and then the angle of the dangle to the water can be set.
Individual rod holders seem to me to be the best solution. I’m new to all of this and having fun working things out. I would consider all brands and try to imagine how each would be attached to the boat and where. Tricky guess at best I know. Good luck.
Rod holders depend on what type of boat you have. I have an old aluminum Tracker and very pleased with the Spyderlocs.

Hi-Tec. For me also !
they do a great job and don’t take up the whole boat doing it :twocents
For spider rigging I prefer singles, tite lok is what I use currently. They take some modifications out of the box, but beats a T Bar setup in my mind, plus each individual holder is adjustable to each user. I use spyderloks for pulling though and they are great!
Always been happy with my Hitec rod holders. I’ve had them on my last 3 boats.
I have had a few of the different makes of T bar rod holders and really prefer the Hi-teks.Nice and easy to set the hook and remove the rod quickly and there also priced a bit better then some of the others.
I really like my Driftmaster Lil pros on the front of my boat and the Duos on a trolling system on the back.

I've tried a variety of rod holders over the years. I prefer Hi-Tek for spider rigging. However I mounted them to custom mounts. I like Driftmaster for pulling crankbaits from the gunwales. The higher sides prevent rods from falling out in rougher seas. Again mounted to custom mounts. I used aluminum T-Slot and mounted it to the gunwale of my boat, then made custom mounts from old tractor electronic display mounts.
I built a diy drip master knock off of drift master. You can buy the wire holders on Amazon cheap.... but I really just waited time and money.
I bought the millennium spider locks... they just can't be beat.

Don’t waste your money on anything else, millennium are the best by far
If I wouldn’t have built my own I would have the Hi Tek. Got a buddy with them on his boat I really like them.
Spyder Loks are awesome! I live in Indiana and we’re limited to 3 poles per person. I sent a message and had custom rod holders in no time. I bought extra bases and can use them for a variety of fishing techniques all over my boat. They will even handle trolling for walleye.
