Absolutely beautiful work Brent. Yeah I think PR is hooked. I really like some of those color combos. My buddy loves his rod.
He does seem to like them. I had to cut him off the 1-5 pound blank lol. Him boat flipping big crappie was a little more then that extra ul could handle. But that’s why I wants him to test them.
Quite a step up for him to your rods from his cut-off Walmart Abu Garcia.
I like the 6 foot. You do good work.

Yeah I cringed and still do when I first saw him doing that. I can’t imagine doing that with those rods.
Those look purdy. Nice work.
Very nice work Brent, really like the color choices. PR does give the rods a workout, but that’s what they’re for. It’s easy to believe that the rod isn’t up to his way of doing things but like you said, you had to get him off of the real light blanks. Cant send him something that is predicted to fail. It’s so much fun to go to a crappie fight undergunned. Which guides did you use? I like the stand-off look and have heard nothing but good about the style. I’m going to try a set but not giving up the mortgage payment til I know I like em.
I basically only use Fuji and normally use this guide train depending on the cost of the rod depends on witch I go with. If the customer wants something else then I will use what they want.
Fuji KL-H Spinning Rod Guide Kits | MudHole.com. Even the stainless fazlite ring witch is the entry level is a great guide. Witch is what most name brand rods have on them now that use a real Fuji guide. . Go look at the higher end falcon rods it’s what they have on them.

Very nice work indeed.
thanks for the kind words guys
Very good, indeed!
Gorgeous work as usual. What is the blue color thread from the top two pictures, and second from the bottom picture? It looks similar to Gudebrod Blue Dunn. Not sure if it's NCP thread or you applied CP.
I want a thread color similar to the blue found on the Loomis NRX rods.
Thanks for sharing.
Brent, is that an American tackle winding machine with an upgrade chuck? I’m repairing a 7’ saltwater rod with a heavy butt section and wish I had the machine that was loaned to me a while back. It was an American tackle machine and while I found some drawbacks I liked the machine overall. Wondering if you have any input on the learning curve about the machines.
It’s the alps upgraded wrapper. I’ve had about all of the upgraded wrappers from PAC BAY, CRB and a few others and the alps is the hands down best. Most of them have some kind of wobble to the chuck. When it wobbles the chuck and it will open. Happens a lot when the rod is drying and it will fall out over night. The alps is smooth as butter and the chuck never opens and it has a set Allen key on the chuck to make sure of that but I’ve never had to use it. The only part I’ve had to replace is the drier motor but they all burn out often. If I was going to buy one again it’s the only one I would buy. Or at least put the alps upgrade chuck on what ever wrapper.
