You will get a million opinions on this. To me it is a mute point.....go fishing when you want......and are able.

I will say this. I fish when I can, but I fish in a tidal river and the best bite is on an outgoing tide....sometimes it aligns with the solunar forecast, others not
All the old timers say if the water aint moving out, the fish arent biting

I go when I can and fish for what I can find.
For me
Full moon = good walleye fishing
Full moon = bad crappie fish

I like to go on Thursday. I look at weather report all if Thursday is ok it is the day I go I do look at the tables. Sometimes the action is best during major or minor time.
Oh, by the way, the reason I go on Thursday is the trash man comes on Friday. Particularly important in warm weather
Full moon - bad crappy.
And it was big n bright last night.

When it comes to fishing/hunting I pay absolutely no attention to that kinda thing. Not that I think it’s completely bs. But I’m going regardless so I don’t let any negativity grab hold because a chart says I’m wasting my time. In any case I believe weather trumps all.
Full moon is tough for Crappie, Early is good for a hour or two, But, Give me mid day say 11 till 3 or 4! Late bite is short. My 2ct.
Go when you can.
I go when I have time, but I won’t stay home because the solunar tables say it isn’t going to be any good.I’ve blown holes in that a bunch of times. However, when I’m fishing and the tables say it’s a better feed, I do some better. It’s worth adding to your bag of tricks.
IMHO, watching the barometric pressure is much more effective than the solunar tables when it comes to fishing.

I fish when I can without planning around the tables. I do believe there is some validity to them though. Many times in the past when I've had fish seemingly turn on for awhile and then quit biting I've gone back and compared the time to what the solunar tables predicted and more often than not there was pretty close alignment. Of course I've also had a few day where the fish bite all through the day and many more days where they didn't seem to bite at all during any time of the day :dono
I take a look at the tables before go fishing or hunting. I do not plan my trip around the tables. The tables do work and earth creatures are more active during lunar periods.
A good book on the subject is: Moon UP Moon Down. The book points out how the gravitational pull of the moon effects the earths creatures including Man.
I invest zero stock in the Lunar tables. So many times i have debunked the theory...lotsa fish on poor days and few fish on excellent days. Someone said it above...barometric pressure. The amount of fish I have caught before is extremely consistent with the barometric pressure. Not the moon.
Also...I only fish on the weekends.
Here in Central Florida, I've tried soooo many times to follow the S-table and I've been sorely disappointed. Tons of wasted time. The fish just don't read it. Too many factors can ruin it. For example, wind.... Florida fish get too spooky (where I fish). A light breeze is fine. Seeds, bugs fall into the water and they will get excited to feed. 15 mph winds and they don't seem to be appreciative of the extra sound.
However for salt water fishing, it's more accurate than not. But I've gone out in the middle of days when things were supposed to be insane and came up empty handed. I find it to be a of most benefit when the calendar tells me that it's going to be insane before 9am. It's almost always spot on then.
I gave up on using it. Now I just go fish'in when I can cuz it's good fer ya!

I have followed the Sol/Lunar forecasts for a good 5 years - pretty much with no luck. I don't let it dictate when I go fishing. Each trip I take I record the "best fishing times", which is a 2 hour window and their predicted 1, 2, 3 or 4 star day in my fishing log. I watch the time while I am fishing and make a mental note of when the bulk of the catches (if any) were happening, before, during or after that 2 hour window. There were 4 star days where I was completely skunked and 1 star days that were some of the best I have ever had. There were times when the catches didn't start until it was in that "best bite" 2 hour window. In short - I find it interesting which is why I record it but I don't follow it.
The only exception I can make to this is full moon and new moon, give or take a couple days before and after it. Some fish seem to bite more, some start their runs out of the bays to the ocean. Moon phase dictates a lot of my saltwater trips be it fishing or crabbing. I don't notice it as much in freshwater.
This is the one I use: Best Fishing Times for January 2021 | Fishingreminder
I can/do go fishing with any day ending in Y. My more influential "keys" are fresh intel. That can be provided from trusted sources/friends/self. Because Solunar tables/Farmers Almanac are pre-determined, in-stone resources, the fresh factor can't exist. However, your real-time, f/f valuables are Barometric pressure, weather trend, wind/rain/sun intensity level. Also, what type of water body are you targeting(stream>Ocean), galoshes or $80 k fiber-thingies. Please feel free to consult my 1st sentence, Happy Catching. Fishing is Easy, always CATCHIN'...not so much!:twocents

Another very important, unmentioned factoid...DUI's can be hazardous to your health/wealth(fines)...FUI's can have consequences too! note: FUI = Fishing under the influence(solunar)nonono:Rofl:Rofl
